My memorable Work Immersion Experience at DJAL

Every senior high school students should experience what will their future fields and how it will work. Choosing a right path to choose the right course to take for senior students is really easy to say on what you think that will be best for you or you think that field will make you cool. But the problem to this mindset is that, what if is not really your specialty or in the end it is not really your field. It will lose your passion that could have affect your future. But it could be avoided through work immersion. Through this, it can avoid that risk and help the person identify if that work will be promising or that work doesn’t workout on you.
It was 11th on November, wherein it was the day that the students will be distributed to their chosen kind of work that they will serve. I was really nervous at that time , knowing me, I’m very shy and timid. I can’t even talk to teachers eyes to eyes .And now, I need to serve another person that I’m unfamiliar with it. I thought that work immersion is really impossible for me. I even dreamed to have research paper instead as an exchange for the work immersion. But I need to move on and gather some courage so that I could passed the requirements for graduation.

A couple of minutes we arrived from our destination. That is the Doña Juana Actub Lluch Memorial Central School. I feel nostalgic because this school was my alma matter and that thought lessen my nervousness just a little bit. And after that, me and my companions, Rizza and Cyrel were guided to the office and start our work.

On day one of our work immersion was quite boring because we really don’t do anything much. Aside from finding the LRN from the requested form and give it to the guidance counselor named Mrs. Juliet Hynson. Mrs. Hynson is very kind and thoughtful after we finished our given work from her , she gave us snacks like kamote que and spaghetti. She even treat us lunch with her cooking which was very sweet and considerate.
Our works is really heavy for me maybe one of the factors is that I’m not really use to it but it just bearable. Mrs. Hynson is not the only one that gives orders to us, all of the teachers are in the faculty are giving favors to us too. Like encoding the grades of the elementary schools of the Iligan City , doing art crafts such us lantern and flower balls, cleaning the bulletin boards.

To be honest, it was really exhausting but it’s okay as long as we were given snacks. That’s the routine of the office when we were there it was a cycle like what we’ve done the other day, we’re going to do it again today. But from that two weeks, I’m was happy that we really done so much and I ccould even really tell that I discovered a new skills that I mastered and that was adaptability and flexibility. Imagine from that two weeks, we became decorators, janitors, encoders and finders, finding what is missing. I may be exaggerating but the thought was there.
The last day of our work immersion and that day was 22th of December, we finally saw a real act of counseling. To be honest, it was ridiculous and funny on how Mrs. Hynson handle those kids with scary aura. Like threatening those kids that if they won’t be fixed the will be punished by gods or whatsoever. For me, that was really cute. Those boys listened and hug each other to show that there were friends already. It really proves that what Mrs. Hynson did was an effective strategy. But before that day we went to NOVO store to buy some affordable gifts for Mrs. Hynson. After strolling for hours , we finally decided on what gift should we gave to Ma’am and that was a small tree with a pot. It was really cute and Mrs. Hynson thank us for that.

For that 2 weeks, I’ve learned a lot and discovered some things that I thought that it wouldn’t have within me. Patience, teamwork, and positive mindset that our work will be done successfully and friendships that I couldn’t thought that will build. Overall, that work immersion has enlightened me, that work is not that easy and I could finally say that I really like that course psychology as my field specialty. Work immersion is truly a worth of experience and I hope that others and the future grade 12 students could experience this unforgettable moments on their life in the future.
